Back to Baltimore

Cameron is taking leave of this beautiful Arizona winter and going back to the frigid Northeast in Baltimore, Maryland. Here's a few photos - also a couple with Cameron (DJ name: Pnyce) and C-Ray who traveled from Indiana for a "gig" Thursday night.

Kijuana and Ted's 4th Anniversary

Happy Anniversary, Kijuana and Ted!!!

When we were in D.C. four years ago for the wedding, one of the memorable experiences included getting snowed in! Airports closed, airplanes stopped flying - we watched people walking in the snow instead of driving cars. Kamilah and I walked over to Morton's, said hi to the Mayor Anthony Williams and had some lovely chocolate cake.
Here's what it looks like in Phoenix in the middle of February--

Happy Valentine's Day

Singing Cowboy on a horse in Scottsdale!
Corban's 20th Birthday
Family luncheon with Cindy and Joe Berry
Dinner with the family!
Gordon E's birthday at the park
The Eliason Girls

I haven't checked in lately, so here goes. Cameron has been home for a few weeks, but will be leaving to go back to Baltimore on Friday. It's always interesting when Cameron is around. I will miss him! While the rest of the nation is suffering with the cold and snow, Phoenix has been at its most beautiful. Sunday afternoon after a sudden rainstorm, it was warm enough to open the windows and smell the fragrant desert air. Wonderful-- We've had outdoor birthday parties, indoor girls' luncheon, family get-together with some of our darling cousins, Corban's 20th birthday! Also a singing cowboy in Scottsdale! Good times!

Best Friends

One of the happiest things I've done is a long, long time was reconnecting with my best friend from high school - good old Glendale High School! Karyl and I would - because we were diet-conscious and oh so clever - go to Karyl's house during our lunch period and raid her family's refrigerator. We would feast on "dainty" portions of bologna and cheese. Here's the kicker - no bread!!!! Long story short - we met again at Karyl's mother's house. Karyl's Mom is just as elegant and fabulous as ever and as an extra-added bonus, three of Karyl's sisters came by. It was wonderful!! Karyl's Mom, Bonnie, served - what else? Bologna and cheese on the same fabulous plates from Switzerland that we had used many, many years ago. What wonderful people! My life is already many notches higher! Karyl and her husband live in Houston and we will never lose touch again!!

Nate in the cupboard

Nate and his Daddy - he looks pretty happy
look at that beautiful face!
Kijuana and Ted both had to work so I got to take care of my grandbabies. Such fun and really good exercise! Kamilah came down Friday night to help out and picked me up on Saturday!!

OK - 2nd trip. My precious, darling Kamilah married her sweetheart Dereck on 22 September 2006. It was wonderful. I traveled to D.C. where I met up with Kijuana, then we along with the precious little ones drove from D.C. to NYC. They were married with very little advance notice! They're planning a bigger celebration in a year when they go to the Temple!
Mom with Kamilah and Dereck- my dress was made in Hong Kong and Kamilah's dress was made by Kamilah!
Kamilah with her "little" brother.
Nate is the sweetest little guy!
The happy couple!

East Coast Traveling

I've been so lucky to have been able to go to the NYC/DC area three times since August! I love to visit the areas and I especially love to be around my grown-up kids and two little grandbabies.

The first trip was also to celebrate Devon's third birthday--

Second trip to celebrate Kamilah and Dereck's wedding!!

Third trip was spent mainly with Devon and Nate and a quick hour or two with Kamilah on the "trade-off" of the kids. I got to spend a bit of time with Kijuana and Ted too!

See proof with the pictures!!

Happy Birthday, Devon Kai

Today is the third birthday of my beloved granddaughter, Devon! The only sad thing is that I don't get a chance to see her very often. Have to just make the best of it! I was so happy to be able to be there when she was born and share that incredible experience.
On January 28, 1978, when Kijuana (Devon's mother) was three years old - she had pink pancakes for breakfast! And look how well she turned out! Also, Kamilah was 2 and one-half months old and Cameron and Corban were still up in heaaven!
Here's a photo of Devon hanging onto her Daddy's finger on the day she was born. And a few others! Look at her hair in the photo with Kamilah!

When Kamilah was here in June we went to get some fabulous facials at the Carsten Institute.

My sister-in-law, Barbara and I went yesterday and got more facials - as you can see, we look fabulous!

I also included a couple of photos from my gym - as you can see - I've finally licensed my Utah car as being an Arizona resident!

On an interesting (to me) and happy note. I've reconnected with my best friend from high school (Glendale High School - go Cardinals)! My friend, Karyl. I can't believe we haven't been in touch for so many years. Hopefully we'll be able to stay in touch this time!
